Braxton Haugen is an American filmmaker, writer, and artist. He was born in Springfield, Oregon, in 2000 and began filmmaking early in life. He briefly attended the University of Oregon to study journalism before leaving to pursue filmmaking independently. As a teenager, his two volumes of short films, The Home Movies, were official selections at Long Story Short International Film Festival, Short to the Point, and Bend Film, where he received the Future Filmmaker Award. Haugen published his debut collection of visual writings, The TikTok Tapes, on TikTok in 2021. In 2022, he moved to Los Angeles and collaborated with Van Neistat on The Spirited Man.

His second collection, From Los Angeles With Love, followed that year, with STUDIES_ released in early 2023. After over a year in London and Europe, he returned to the States, spending the summer in Topanga, California, where he continued collaborating with Neistat and wrote his fourth collection, Braxton Haugen In His Own Words.
